Big Kev`s Bbq in Madison

Runny mac n cheese, stale corn bread and slimy collard greens = gross. Also noticed food server wasn't wearing a hairnet while plating food. We visited on a Sunday. Won't be going back. However, the waitress is above nice & accommodating. Very happy and pleasant associate.

Upon arrival, very impressed with the look and feel of the place. Very nice lady let us sit there we liked. Big Kev was very friendly as well. Sweet tea is deeelish! Cute fireplace in the old caboose that is the restaurant. Ordered ribs, fried chicken, stew and Mac.... Will update after dinnerFood was so good, and there was so much of it we were both stuffed! Still managed to eat some bread pudding for dessert. Took some pulled pork to go, will food coma out again later. Highly recommend y'all going here

On our drive from Watkinsville to Atlanta on Sunday May 26, 2019 we decided to stop at Big Kev’s BBQ for lunch. We ordered the ribs with mac and cheese, beans and I had french fries as one of my sides. With your order you get either corn bread and/or toast. It was the BEST!!!!!The food was amazing! We asked for their bread pudding to go as we were so full from the delicious food. The bread pudding is amazing as well. We highly recommend this bbq restaurant and we will certainly be back real soon. We had a waitress that had just started working there but we have to say she was on the ball and attended to all our needs and was a pleasure to meet.

My wife and I tried this place after church today and we were very happy to find out they have fantastic ribs! We hope they are consistent because we are going back soon to find out. Nicely done Big Kev's!

Passing through town, thought we'd try it. So glad we did! The catfish and chicken really surprised me! Everything we had ranged from dang that's good, to that's the best I've ever had! I'm a foodie, so take that for what it's worth. Eat here! Can't add pics... Ate it too fast!

Service was very slow... If the food had been good it would have been well worth waiting for... But it wasn't. My french fries were dripping literally with grease. I didn't eat any. The catfish wasn't too bad but it wasn't good either. The coleslaw was the only decent thing on the plate. I don't recommend this place and I don't know why it got so many good reviews.

Old fashion bbq. We found this place because we travel to Atlanta once a week. We are tired of burgers and chicken. Good food friendly people.

This was the best BBQ I have ever eatin at and trust me I eat BBQ all the time. The staff here was amazing so sweet and kind! Best service all around!!!

The food at Big Kev's was awesome. Got the fried catfish and my girlfriend got the pulled pork sandwich. Both were excellent! Their BBQ sauce was very good and the pork was nice and smokey. Also tried the fried pickles which were yummy. Only complaints are the service was a little slow (though very friendly) and they were sold out of ribs and brisket when we got there. Must mean those two are really tasty! Big Kev was friendly and nice and all in all it was a good atmosphere. Didn't sit outside but there was some patio seating. Definitely recommend, 4/5 stars because didn't get to try brisket or ribs!Went back and got the Philadelphia brisket sandwich and by golly it was delicious. The potato salad was also very delicious. Updated to 5/5 stars

Good fall-off-the-bone ribs! Very tender meat with good flavor. Corn bread was excellent, as was the service. They brought out a bowl of water for my dog while we ate.

Clean & friendly. Food is average priced and very tasty. I had brisket and it was mouth watering good. The staff is attentive, there was never a moment that my family of 5 wanted for anything.

We were excited to try this place as we have yet to find really good barbecue in the Greensboro/ Madison area. Unfortunately, they were closed. A handwritten note on the door said they were closed from 3 to 5 pm but would open at 5 for dinner. It was 5:15. Waited a few more minutes, left a voicemail letting them know customers were waiting outside. Then we left to find food elsewhere. Very unprofessional. That is a major pet peeve for businesses to be closed when they are supposed to be open. It is unprofessional and shows they don’t care about being reliable.

The food was very tasty! Ambience was good. My complaint was that the portion size and service on disposable plates and cutlery did not match the price! Therefore I say it was overpriced! They would attract a whole lot more customers if they would adjust at least one of these things. I would currently rate them as "$$" as apposed to the current "$".

Traveling to or from the north GAVE mountains, we go through amadison, GA. Three stops at Big Kegs over 3 years and each one delightful with great food. The building might be described as a dive (an added onto old railroad caboose) but visit here as a destination or just passing through.

Unique building with very friendly staff the barbecue is okay. It is worth trying out just because the staff is very friendly.

Some of the best pork I have ever had! Very juicy and full of flavor. We got there early, before the crowd, but still took a little too long for the food to get out to us. My wife ordered the grilled chicken breast and was disappointed in it. It was a plain chicken breast with little to no seasoning. Everything else was fantastic.

I enjoyed very much go a chance to see ZzTop in Texas alive.

One of the best BBQ I have every had. Very meaty, fall off the bone smoked baby back ribs !!. Sweet potatoes have allspice .... phenomenal. The baked beans are the best I have ever had. If you want quality, scratch made food, stop in.

Sweetest server, great southern comfort food. We loved the fried okra! BBQ sauce was delicious and on the side. Cornbread was sweet and moist. Definitely recommend!

Ate here after early service on Sunday. Great atmosphere and service that was true and genuine. Catfish and pulled pork was on point. Collard greens are sweet and delicious along with the cornbread. Bbq sauce was served on the side and went great with the smoked pork. Wanna come back to try the ribs. Kids menu was reasonably priced which really helps with a family of 5.

Big Kev's has been great each time I have visited. This time around we enjoyed ribs, pulled pork, and grilled chicken with cornbread, Texas toast, coleslaw, and Brunswick stew.The ribs were competition quality. They had a perfect amount of smoke, without overtaking the meat. The texture was perfect. Big Kev achieved a tender rib that maintained its integrity. The pulled pork was also amazing. It had a great smoke level, perfect tenderness, and juiciness. The sides were just as carefully prepared. The family that runs the restaurant clearly care about what they do and take pride in their food, service, and atmosphere. If you're in the area, it is definitely worth a stop.

Excellent, food was served quickly, seasoned and cooked properly, staff were friendly and helpful, not a ton of parking, but well worth the walk.

Great barbecue, great atmosphere great service. I had 1/3 rack and my wife had a pulled pork plate of the most tasty and moist barbecue I have had. Baked beans and Brunswick stew was also outstanding. Nice blues music playing and a real fireplace make for a very comfortable dining experience. Unfortunately they don’t serve alcohol despite the tons of beer wall decorations. Only complaint is the 1/3 rack plate is too small of a portion of ribs for $16.

The pulled pork and greens were superb. It did take a while for the to go order, but it's not fast food so keep that in mind. The sauce we were told Kev makes, sweet but a nice bit of seasoning. Staff is friendly. They offer sweet and unsweetened tea. 2nd visit this week. There was another sauce option with more of a tangy flavor. ( yummy). Catfish was perfect and lightly battered. Fried okra was fresh, light and crunchy. 2 meat platter $13.95. 3 meat platter $16.95 both served with 2 sides toast or cornbread. Ribs are $3 more.

Is it an all you can eat buffet? No. But it is reasonably priced and the QUALITY of this BBQ is top notch. They made basic pulled pork sing to me. Yes, it sang to me! Sauce is good tho limited options of style of sauce. Highly recommend.

Cute little place attached to an old caboose. No frills with styrofoam plates and cups. Food was good- smoky flavor on the chicken I had, tasty bark on the pulled pork my companion had. People were nice. I would definitely go back.

A little disappointed witht he food. Cool atmosphere and great smells but food wasn't as good as i hoped.

Found this place while traveling and I'm glad we stopped. The staff was amazing. We showed them a few things that were wrong on the Google maps account and made edits. I hope they change them soon. Because this place is well worth the time and money. Thanks for the BBQ and ribs.
